Here's The Proper Way To Store Your Medicine In Hot Weather

Without a doubt, medicine should be properly protected from the sun and high temperatures. However, it turns out that some people do it wrong.

Everyone should know how to store medicines. When it's hot, many of us put them in the fridge.

This solution seems logical and good, but we don't take into account a few things.

The thing is that the conditions inside the device are not good for our medicines at all.

How to store medicines in hot weather?

Marta TrafidÅ‚o, MA in pharmacy, in an interview with Poradnik Zdrowie, indicates that the temperature in the fridge is too low. "A better solution will be portable, small tourist refrigerators in which we can set the temperature," advises the expert.

She adds that we do not know how low temperature affects the effectiveness of drugs. This may lead to unwanted reactions.

It is also worth remembering that there is often moisture in the refrigerator, which may harm some products.

And if you don't have the opportunity to use a travel fridge, the pharmacist suggests finding a cool place in the house. It should definitely be quite low and away from windows. You can also put the medicines in a home basement, but remember to protect them from moisture.

But what about the medicines you take on holiday? First of all, always check the storage instructions on the packaging. The expert advises not to keep medications in hand luggage unless necessary. Instead, put your medications in a bag with your clothes and put ice packs wrapped in a scarf in your suitcase. This way, the medications will not be exposed to the heat.
