Kourtney Kardashian has found herself at the center of controversy yet again for a style decision. This time, the reality star is facing backlash from fans after stepping out in Malibu wearing a jersey top featuring the logo of the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team. The graphic, which shows a side-profile of a Native American person’s head, has been deemed by many fans as “offensive” and “upsetting.”
The mom of three donned the oversized jersey while on a date with her husband Travis Barker at Greek restaurant Taverna Tony last Friday. Along with this top that she wore as a dress, Kardashian
added a long, black overcoat and shiny, almost knee-high boots.Fans on Reddit, as reported by the U.S. Sun, were
outraged by images of Kardashian’s outfit that emerged on the site. In one
discussion thread, users began explaining why the logo was “problematic,” as
one commented. “Ugh Kourtney’s top,” another added as someone else chimed in:
“I love Kourtney and I love hockey – but this is NOT it.”
One other agreed,
writing, “Ain’t no way Kourtney confidently wore that jersey. That’s insane.”
Someone else added, “It’s a hockey logo,” to which another replied, “I
understand it’s sports but it’s still gross.”
Many began pointing out how significantly
Kardashian’s style has changed since she became romantically
involved with Barker, often opting for similar edgy punk or gothic-inspired
looks like he often wears, or in this instance, donning a jersey like he might.
One other fan on Reddit
theorized, regarding Barker’s band Blink-182: “When Blink was on tour, they
would post the jerseys they received at every stadium stop. I’d assume Travis
got this from the Chicago shows.”
