How To Use Aluminium Foil To Remove Ice From Your Freezer: Here's The Method

 

To use aluminum foil to remove ice from your freezer, the foil is used in combination with hot water and acts as a heat conductor to speed up the melting process. 

Method for Using Aluminum Foil to Defrost a Freezer

1. Turn off and empty the freezer. For safety, always switch off and unplug the appliance first. Remove all food items and store them in a cooler or an insulated container, perhaps wrapped in towels and foil for extra insulation.
2. Line the icy surfaces with foil. Cover all the interior icy surfaces and walls with aluminum foil. The foil's heat-conducting properties help distribute heat more efficiently.
3. Place a bowl of hot water inside. Place a bowl or pot of boiling water inside the freezer compartment.
4. Shut the door. Close the freezer door to trap the steam and heat inside.
5. Wait and check. After about 10 minutes, the combination of steam and the heat-conducting foil should start to loosen and melt the ice, making it much easier to remove.
6. Remove the ice. Once the ice has melted or loosened, you can remove it. Avoid using sharp tools like a hammer or knife, as this can damage the freezer lining.
7. Clean and dry. After all the ice and water are removed, wipe down the interior with a clean cloth and a mild sanitizing solution if desired. Ensure the interior is completely dry before turning the freezer back on.
8. Restart the freezer. Plug in the appliance, turn it back on, and return your food items once the correct temperature is reached.
