Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, has
explained that her decision to launch the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle (NWPT)
was driven by a desire to create an interdenominational platform for believers
seeking spiritual revival, prayer, transformation and deeper fellowship with
God.
Tonto Dikeh unveiled the new ministry
on Sunday through a post on her Instagram page, describing NWPT as an
interdenominational altar and a “global movement of consecrated believers
called to experience the raw power, purity, and presence of God.”
The movement is anchored on the
biblical passage in Mark 2:22, which states, “And no one puts new wine into old
wineskins.”
According to the actress, NWPT is intended to provide a platform for believers who
desire what she described as genuine revival and spiritual transformation.“NWPT exists as a dwelling place of
His presence for those who refuse to settle for lukewarm Christianity and are
hungry for genuine revival, fire, and transformation,” the statement read.
The movement said its vision is “to
see a global awakening of consecrated believers operating in the raw power,
purity, and presence of God transforming nations and establishing the Kingdom
of Christ on Earth.”
On
its mission, NWPT stated that it would build “an interdenominational altar of
prayer, revival, and apostolic training” aimed at equipping believers,
activating spiritual gifts, promoting evangelism, and helping people find
freedom through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Tonto Dikeh also clarified that the new ministry was not intended to
operate as a conventional church.
“This is not a church; it is an intense gathering of those consecrated
and equipped for the purposes of God. A people set apart, refined by His
presence, and commissioned to advance His Kingdom,” the announcement stated.
According to the actress, NWPT will hold its weekly fellowship every
Friday at 6:00 pm.
The development comes months after Dikeh began signing some of her
social media posts as “Ada El-Roi” and became more active in Christian
activities, including participation in Pastor Jerry Eze’s NSPPD community.
In December 2025, Dikeh also shared a public testimony during a service
at Streams of Joy International Church, where she spoke about overcoming what
she described as struggles with smoking, alcohol addiction, masturbation and
prolonged anger.
The actress said she started smoking at the age of 13 and credited her
faith for helping her overcome the challenges.
Dikeh, who ventured into politics in 2022 as a governorship running mate
in Rivers, has in recent months increasingly spoken publicly about her
spiritual journey and personal transformation.
