Nigerian fashion designer and entrepreneur, Ruth Erikan James, popularly known as Veekee James, and her husband, Femi Atere, announced on Tuesday that they are expecting their first child.
In an Instagram video that
featured both of them, the couple revealed her baby bump and spoke about the
moment as one that only faith could explain.
In her caption on Instagram, Veekee wrote: “and two shall become 3 🥹 Indeed this
is what only GOD can do🙏🏼 #babyontheway #pregnancyannouncement”This announcement comes at
a busy and joyful time for the couple.
They recently celebrated
their second wedding anniversary, marking two years since they tied the knot,
holding traditional and white wedding ceremonies that were widely covered in
the media.
Also, just a few weeks ago,
Veekee and Femi opened their first physical gift store, Feveetale, in Lagos.
Veekee has, however, built
a name for herself as the founder of the Veekee James fashion brand and a
notable figure in Nigeria’s fashion industry.
She grew up in Lagos and launched her
label in 2019, later expanding into men’s and women’s fashion lines.
Her work has earned
industry recognition, including the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award for Best
Designer of the Year and placement on Forbes Africa’s 30 Under 30 list.
