Nigerian Creator Runs Chanel's Runway

 

Nigerian creator Rachel Ojuromi made her official runway debut for Chanel during Paris Fashion Week on October 5, 2026.

The 22-year-old model and content creator turned the streets of Lagos into her own catwalk, going viral after she and her stylist, Debby Fasingha, recreated Chanel’s 2026 Métiers d'Art looks using thrifted pieces from Yaba Market.

• Matthieu Blazy’s Reaction: Chanel’s artistic director Matthieu Blazy noticed her videos online and reached out, leading to an invitation to Paris.
• The Chanel Show: Ojuromi walked in Chanel's Spring/Summer 2027 show at the Grand Palais in Paris, wearing Look 73 (a yellow-and-gray tweed shirt and midi skirt).

• International Agency Signings: Following her viral success, she signed with modeling agencies including SAFE (Paris), SUPA (London), No Smoking (New York), and Next Canada.
