Temi Otedola, the Nigerian actress, has been unveiled as the new African digital brand ambassador for L’Oréal Paris, the French multinational skincare company
The company announced the partnership in a
statement sent to TheCable Lifestyle on Sunday.
Describing the collaboration as “iconic”, the skincare firm disclosed that Temi now joins its roaster of ambassadors like Kendall Jenner, the American model, and Viola
Davis, the US actress.“Standing alongside fellow ambassadors including Kendall
Jenner and Viola Davis, this collaboration marks a significant milestone in
celebrating beauty in all its forms across the African continent and reaffirms
L’Oréal Paris’s commitment to diversity and empowerment,” the statement reads
in part.
“As the face of L’Oréal Paris Makeup, Temi
will headline the latest Infallible Makeup Range campaigns, showcasing her
unique style and celebrating the diverse beauty of Africa.”
Speaking on the partnership, Temi revealed that “L’Oréal
Paris was among the first beauty products I was introduced to as a young girl
playing with my mother’s makeup”.
The 28-year-old actress said she was excited about the
collaboration and “deeply respects” the company’s “values and vision”.
“Words cannot describe how honored I am to
partner with L’Oréal Paris Makeup. L’Oréal Paris was amongst the first beauty
products I was introduced to as a young girl playing with my mother’s makeup,”
she said.
“I have grown up loving their products and deeply respecting
the company’s values and vision. The L’Oréal Paris woman is someone I deeply
resonate with—confident, unapologetic, and always striving to make a difference
in the world. I’m so excited to begin this beautiful journey with a brand that
truly inspires me.”
In an Instagram
post, Temi, the daughter of Nigerian businessman Femi
Otedola, also gushed about becoming the skincare company’s “first-ever African
Digital Ambassador!”
“I still don’t believe I’m typing this but I’m so excited to
announce that I am the first ever African Digital Ambassador for @lorealparis I’m
truly honoured to be the first Nigerian representing L’Oréal not only across
Africa but also on a global stage. This has been the hardest secret to keep for
the last 6 months!!” she wrote
“I’m so excited to share L’Oréal’s iconic
products and equally iconic brand with all of you. To me, the L’Oréal woman is
empathetic, unapologetic and of course, infallible. She’s Worth It! I can still
remember playing with my mom’s L’Oréal Lipstick and Mascara so this is a REAL
dream come true!!!”
“I’m charging up for all the many moments and milestones I’ll
be creating with my new L’Oréal Family.”
On her part, Issima Oniangue, the general
manager for makeup in the Sub-Saharan Africa Zone at L’Oréal Paris, hailed Temi
for her “unique style, confidence, and passion for beauty”.
“Temi’s unique style, confidence, and passion for beauty
perfectly embody the L’Oréal Paris ethos of empowerment and sophistication,”
she said.
“This partnership marks a new era of
glamour and innovation in beauty for the region as we continue to celebrate and
cater to the diverse beauty of African women. We are excited to inspire and
bring the best of beauty to every corner of the continent.”
Founded in the mid-1900s, L’Oréal Paris has continued to
empower women with initiatives dedicated to promoting equal rights and
self-esteem.
The feat for Temi comes a few weeks after her sister Florence
‘DJ Cuppy’ Otedola was appointed King’s
Trust International Ambassador to the British monarch King Charles III.
