Not In The Fridge Or The Fruit Bowl: The Best Place To Keep Strawberry

To keep strawberries fresh without using the fridge or a fruit bowl, store them in a cool, dry, and dark place (like a pantry or cabinet) inside a sealed glass mason jar, or in a single layer on a paper towel-lined tray. For maximum freshness, keep them unwashed and un-stemmed until ready to eat

·         Best Non-Fridge Method (Short Term): Place whole, unwashed berries in a glass jar and seal it. This keeps them fresh for up to a week or

more by protecting them from moisture and airflow that causes mold.

·         Optimal Counter Setup: If storing on the counter for 1–2 days, place them in a single, uncrowded layer on a paper towel-lined tray to prevent mold from spreading.

·         Why Not the Fruit Bowl? Fruit bowls often contain fruits that emit ethylene gas (like apples or bananas), which accelerates ripening and causes strawberries to spoil faster.

Pro Tip: To prevent molding, remove any damaged or soft berries from the container immediately.
