Designer Tehilah Abakasanga
of ÖFUURË presents The IGHÓ Collection, Named After her Mother
Designer Tehilah Abakasanga of ÖFUURË, a womenswear brand presents the IGHÓ collection. Here’s what she told BN Style;
The IGHÓ collection was my winning AFWT
(African fashion week Toronto) student design competition 2016
collection. IGHÓ means wealth in Edo, and this collection was named after my
mum whose name is Omonigho.
It’s not your average ankara collection. I
incorporated some of my favourite fabrics like tulle and fringe with different
textures, hand sewn appliqués and some beadwork. Overall it was a very fun
collection to work on.
